Across sectors and borders, women continue to play a vital role in shaping dialogue, driving progress, and strengthening institutions. The International Day of Women in Diplomacy, observed annually on 24 June, recognizes the growing presence and impact of women in diplomatic spaces and global decision-making. It highlights the importance of women's leadership in fostering cooperation, advancing peace, and promoting inclusive development worldwide.

In the Philippines and across Mindanao, diplomatic women leaders—including Dabawenyas—are increasingly influencing public policy, business, civil society, education, and international engagement. Their leadership reflects resilience, innovation, and a commitment to building communities that are equitable, forward-looking, and globally connected.

In line with this global observance, Breaking Barriers: Diplomatic and Dabawenya Leaders Shaping the Future seeks to spotlight women who are helping shape Mindanao's development trajectory while contributing to broader conversations on diplomacy, governance, and economic growth. The event will serve as a platform to recognize their contributions, share insights, and inspire the next generation of women leaders.

Through meaningful dialogue and cross-sector exchange, the event will underscore how local leadership connects to global diplomacy and sustainable development, reinforcing Davao's role as a dynamic hub of empowered and transformative women leadership.
